The steers were good to handle in the yards. Two steers wouldn't stand still while in the crush and exited quickly. However, given that they have just come off the cows and have had limited handling throughout the yards they were generally good to handle.

Assessor Comments
A mostly good to very good quality line of Angus steers with three Angus Cross. Yard weaned at assessment, steers will be fed green barley & oaten hay and worked through the yards until delivery. Steers are out of PTIC Angus & Angus X cows purchased off AuctionsPlus in May 2024. Steers were assessed as Angus to suit major feedlot specifications, three head are displaying very slight greying in coat or have slightly red tinge. These steers would suit to take to feeder weights and finish on crop/grass for a range of high quality slaughter markets. Note one steer with blue eye scarring in both eyes and another with slight blue eye scarring on one eye. Steers have not had access to any grain or cotton seed.

PICK OF 3 FULL FLUSH HEIFERS
Palgrove Charolais
· Flush · Charolais · Sire: PLEASE SEE CATALOGUE · Dam: PLEASE SEE CATALOGUE · PK25W83E, PK25W44E, PK25W53E (Pick of 3 flush sisters) True to our word, when we release females of this calibre it’s a genuine opportunity to secure the very best our program has to offer — something we don’t do more than twice in a decade. These three full flush sisters, all from one of our elite donor females, represent a rare chance for new or established stud breeders to invest in a future donor female with enormous upside. We couldn’t split them, so the choice is yours — and what a statement they would make at the World Congress in Brisbane this August. They are out of a proven donor female and sired by Rockerfella, who sold to the Ascot Stud for $100,000 in 2022. His first sons featured in last year’s sale, with 20 sons selling to average $20,737, underlining the consistency and demand for this sire line. They also have a full flush brother from the same program who is something truly special. If we don’t retain him, he will feature as a highlight bull in the yearling section of our September sale. Their dam has an outstanding production record, with 20 recorded progeny before the age of five, returning over $100,000 in her first year of sales from just five progeny. This included Ultrahot, who sold to Futurity Charolais for $40,000, and another daughter who sold to Black Duck Charolais for $18,000 as a 10-month-old heifer, who has since entered their donor program. The granddam is also a prominent donor with progeny reaching $36,000. A further first-calf Landmark daughter retained in our herd and full sister to Ultrahot ($40,000) was flushed this year, producing 14 eggs, reinforcing the exceptional fertility and consistency of this female line. You take the choice — and ‘Make your Mark’ on the Charolais breed.
