My young helper today was 10 years old and he penned them, and kept them coming up to me at the crush/scales. Whilst some were quick in the race, unsettled on the scales and while being mouthed - they settled as soon as they were back with their mates. Well broken into being worked with horses, dogs and bikes. No real problem.

Assessor Comments
There is plenty of upside to these steers - they are well grown, all frame and no condition. Good bone, length and heathly in the coat. They are in store condition and are ideal in put onto grass or crop to either fatten or to reach heavier feeder weights. This area of the Hunter valley has experienced a wet Autumn and wet/cold start to Winter. They have been owned for 6 -12 months and were purchased thought out the Hunter Valley. All were mouthed and had milk teeth. Good to handle and easily worked with dogs. Delivery is at Gresford Saleyards/Gresford Showground for transport ease. Given a chance they should be able to meet a wide variety of markets either grass or grain fed coming into the warmer months. Overall a good lot of 20 steers.
