Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The heifers were good to handle in the yards. Six heifers became slightly agitated while in the crush and exited quickly. Most settled well once back in the pen together, one heifer did not settle and paced around the pen. However, given they have just come off the cows and have had limited handling they were generally good to handle.

Assessor Comments
A mostly very good to good quality line of vendor bred heifers. Heifers are mostly medium to large framed with one heifer being small framed. Yard weaned at assessment, will be fed green Oaten & Barley hay up until delivery. Heifers are ideal to background to domestic feeder weights and then grain or grass finish for a range of high quality markets. The top 52% also have the potential to be very good quality future breeders, as the vendor has not retained any heifers this year. Heifers are sired by registered Speckle Park bulls, a Mooroobie Angus bull & a neighbours Hereford bull. All heifers had their first shot of 5 in 1 at branding in September. Note seven heifers with blue eye scaring. Buffalo fly were present on cattle during assessment, two heifers with minor skin irritation, see photos and video. Active pinkeye was visible in other cattle in yards, several animals were withdrawn at assessment, cattle will be monitored and any heifers with active pinkeye will not be loaded.
