MRS BURKE IS FASTIDIOUS WITH TEMPRAMENT IN HER CATTLE AND CULLS ACCORDINGLY. THE STEERS WERE EASY TO HANDLE IN THE YARDS BUT THE WARM NORTH WESTERLY WIND ON THE DAY OF ASSESSMENT TENDED TO MAKE THEM RUN ON THE DAY. THEY MOVED CLAMLY UP THE LEAD RACE AND CRUSH BUT WERE SLIGHLT STIRRED UP IN THE WEIGH BOX DUE TO THE CLANGING CHAINS & LOCKS ON THE BOX. I HAVE BEEN ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAMILY'S CATTLE FOR OVER 30 YEARS & I CAN ATTEST TO THEIR QUIET EASY HANDLING NATURE.

PRESENTING IN TODAY'S SALE ARE A QUALITY LINE OF VENDOR BRED STEERS OFF "GOLDEN VALLEY" AT COWRA. CATTLE ARE PRESENTING IN FRESH FORWARD STORE CONDITION, STILL IN THEIR WINTER COAT BUT ARE STARTING TO DO. STEERS ARE HEAVY BONED WITH A DISTINCTIVE SQUARE DEEP BODY. STARTING TO FILL THROUGH THE BRISKET WITH MEDIUM COVER OVER THE RIB & PINS, WITH THE RUMP COMMENCING TO ROUND UP AS WELL. BRED OUT OF LARGE FRAMED BREEDERS OF IMPECCABLE LINES. MRS BURKE'S CATTLE HAVE YEARS OF BREEDING BEHIND THEM DUE TO THE FAMILY BEING HEAVILY INVOLVED WITH THE SHORTHORN BREED SOCIETY & ARE NOTED PERFORMERS ON GRASS OR GRAIN. STEERS WERE REGULARLY SUPPLIED TO THE JBS 1000 GUINEA PROGRAM & RETURNED OUTSTANDING RESULTS FOR WEIGHT & OVERALL INDEXES.
