Calves handled well through the assessing process with vendor pushing 80% of calves on to the platform from the force yard. The odd calf spooked standing on the platform, but generally all of the calves handled with a degree of docility through the whole process.

Assessor Comments
An even line of Angus/Poll Hereford X Heifer calves that have handled quite a wet start to the year and all things considered have held up very well. I have no doubt given the spring these heifers would mature and be a definite future breeding prospect. The Langowan herd were originally a Poll Hereford base but 5 years ago started the change to Angus, and no doubt the cross has complimented both breeds with a high emphasis on bone and structure. The whole draft of calves present in forward condition and have wintered well but are presented with no excess condition and plenty of quick compensatory weight gain given the right feed and environment going ahead. Please note there are 3 lots total offered by the vendor in the sale (2 lots of steers,1 lot of heifers).

Annual offering of Spring Drop Weaners, due to an incredibly wet start to the winter the decision has been made to sell a bit earlier than originally planned.
