Temperament not assessed in Paddock
In the yards these animals were generally quiet and handled pressure. When moving as a mob a slow lead would move off then there would be a rush in the middle before another slow tail. Nothing aggressive was noted. In the force and especially the race they generally did not like becoming isolated and would often accelerate into the crush. Once in the crush many would settle. Any that continued to move were deemed SS while those that moved excessively were called stirry. All settled in the mob.

Assessor Comments
A fair through to very good quality line of light weight vendor bred weaner heifers. This is the entire drop of heifers with no heifers being retained due to the season. They suit to take and background for domestic feeder weights and then finish for most high quality MSA slaughter markets. As no heifers are being retained the top 25% would suit as good quality future breeders. No active pink eye was noted at assessment and weaners will be rechecked prior to loading. Two heifers noted with slight blue eye scaring in one eye. These heifers had a LWR of 152 - 264 kg full weight. They have been yard weaned and are educated to horses, dogs and electric fences. The heifers have not had access to grain and are eligible for grass finished markets. This is the total drop of vendor bred heifers that will continue to move forward and which suit a range of high quality markets.
