Temperament not assessed in Paddock
The steers were good to handle in the yards. Eight steers became agitated while in the crush and exited quickly. Most settled well once back in the yards together, two steers did not settle and paced around the pen while photos were taken. However, given that they have just come off the cows and have had limited handling throughout the yards they were generally good to handle.

Assessor Comments
A mostly very good to good quality line of vendor bred steers. Steers are mostly medium to large framed. Yard weaned at assessment, will be fed green barley & oaten hay and worked through the yards until delivery. Steers are sired by registered Speckle Park bulls, a Mooroobie Angus bull & a neighbours Hereford bull. All steers had their first shot of 5 in 1 at branding in September. Note eight steers with slight blue eye in one eye and another with slight blue eye scarring on both eyes. Active pinkeye was visible in other cattle in yards, several steers were withdrawn at assessment. Cattle will be monitored and any steers with active pink eye will not be loaded. Buffalo fly were also present on the cattle at assessment. They suit to take to domestic feeder weights and finish for a range of high quality slaughter markets. Steers have not had access to any grain or cotton seed. Please note that the sisters of these steers are also in this sale.
