Assessor Comments
Offering the 2024 drop weaners off Barrabooka due to the sale of the property. The Barrabooka herd was originally developed on Tuwharetoa Angus (Tarcutta) genetics before transitioning to Hazeldean Angus approximately 10 years ago. These steers are the tops of the drop, out of large framed, big boned, deep bodied cows with presence and sired by Hazeldean and Dunoon sires. They are well weaned and offering immediate compensatory weight gains with a change in diet and have the ability to fatten to bullocks. They are currently being supplemented silage and running with their sisters until delivery. Given the current summer conditions pink eye is about and the odd weepy eye would be expected at delivery. 2 steers were treated at assessment and should they not be recovering by delivery they will not be loaded. These steers are typically grown out to feeder weights but now being offered for your competition. Vendor is offering their sisters in today’s sale as well as the spring drop weaners.
