Heifers were very well mannered during assessment, especially seeing as they’d had a big few days in and out of the yards. They all led up from the backyards by a single handler, were good in the race, and mostly very sensible on the scales, just a few heifers that were a bit anxious as their last trip through the crush was to be preg tested the day before! All very quiet in the holding yard where they were let out for photos. Just one heifer that had a slightly bigger flight zone.

Assessor Comments
Hillgrove Star Pastoral offer a very nice line of EU/Never Ever accredited Rennylea & Te Mania Angus blood Heifers. Heifers that were weaned in March 24’, put out on a rocky hill paddock at the foot of Mount Mittamatite, and left to work it out themselves in what was a very tough Autumn/Winter in the Upper Murray. From there, these heifers were part of the ‘keeper’ selection, they were put out with the bulls for just 6 weeks in light 2 score condition. Unfortunately, the assigned task was just a bit too tough, and these heifers did not conceive in the 2 cycle joining opportunity, now giving the successful purchaser the chance to target an Autumn joining, or continue on feed and grow out to Supermarket/Export specs. These heifers have an enormous amount of frame and will grow out to be large to very large size females in any chosen operation.
