The steers were very good to handle. They were hand fed through autumn and winter so are used to humans and vehicles.

67 vendor bred Angus steers. They are a late Aug / Sep / Oct drop and were weaned on in early April.
All weighed from 170kg to 275kg to average 209full. They had a tough start to life, the cows did a great job for the first 8 months and they have flat lined since weaning. They handled very well through the yards and were very calm through the crush, as they have been hand feed every second day since weaning. These are the lead draft out of 300 steers. Bred out of big frame Banquet and Western Vic bred cows and sired by Bushy Park bulls who have used a lot of Millamurrah semen. They are all frame with absolutely no fat, I expect if they go onto quality feed the weight gains will be excellent as they are light but not too far gone.
