Weaners are in forward store condition. After being yard weaned for several days in a large mob cattle are only holding condition and not gaining weight. All are capable of travelling long distances.

Cattle handled well for the limited exposure to yards and close up handling. Since being marked they have been running with their mothers in creek and hill country and we’re left alone up until being brought into the yards for weaning. With further handling these weaners have the potential to be very quiet. There was the odd one that stirred slightly in the crush but settled once back in the mob.

Assessor Comments
On offer is a line of 72 Angus weaner steers that are 8-9 months of age and were weighed between 200-274kgs LW. Cattle are made up of Ardrossan, Dunoon & Table Top Angus bloodlines. Steers are currently being yard weaned and being fed silage each day and will continue to be up until delivery. Buyers please note photos of these steers and the similar weight grouped heifer portion were photographed together due to the building of a new set of cattle yards and limited space. These steers are presenting in their working clothes and I believe with a drench, 5in1 and put on quality feed these steers would show excellent compensatory weight gain given their extended weaning period. Buyers have the opportunity to put together a b-double of steers with another 30 head offered in same sale to make up 102 head total.
