Assessor Comments
An excellent run of weaned Angus steers, born & bred at Brown Mountain Angus Stud. Bred at their Southern Monaro property at Bungarby these steers are ready to jump ahead on crop or good feed over winter. Fully yard weaned for 10 days, steers are very quiet and are still being fed silage and pellets to educate them further. Steers also have access to mineral supplements via a trough in the yards. Ideal steers to put on feed and take through to feedlot/killable weights in the future. Brown Mountain blood (Rennylea/Hazeldean based stud) with the lead 52 steers in this mob in the top 14% for IMF for the breed. And whole lot being in the top 36%. Lowest IMF EBV in this lot is +3.1, top at +7.2. Please note: A portion of these steers did get ringworm through out the weaning process. Some still showing signs but all are improving and on the mend. Doesn't seem to be affecting their weight gain.
