Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Steers were very good to handle in all areas of the yards and also considered quiet when moving from yard to yard. In the crush they were generally quiet even whilst being fitted with an NLIS device. Generally, the temperament is not an issue at all. Buyers should be warned however, most cattle need to be settled down on arrival after a truck trip and in strange surroundings before they are shown the bush gate.

Assessor Comments
Buyers a good quality line of weaner steers best described as Composites. These steers have been bred in light forest type country so I would anticipate excellent weight gains on better quality heavy developed scrub soil country. Vendor is a regular user of A+ and we are finding repeat buyers operating on these cattle. These steers seem to be very content and have handled the weaning process very easily, there is no bellowing at all coming out of them. They are in plain condition so I would imagine they were in all likelihood self weaned so buyer be advised you are not buying "butter balls" that will melt once you purchase them. I did notice a Santa steer in the lot that looks to have been slightly later cut, still displaying some minor male characteristics but definitely no stones. There are 153 of these being offered in two lots with delivery a run of the gate into even lines if purchased by more than one buyer. Also some lighter steers and heifers in the sale as well.
