Heifers were generally pretty quick in most areas of the yards. There is a bit of canter in them out in the bigger yards and they need to be steadied through gateways, however that being said there are definitely some ring leaders that have a negative effect on the balance of the mob. They were no heifers that could be described as aggressive in them though. They seemed to stand up pretty well when being photographed and videoed. Vendor did say they are easy to muster using a buggy.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, a line of yearling heifers suitable to breed or feed. They are considered good to very good quality and the seasonal conditions only improved in the last couple of weeks. As a result, they probably lack a bit of weight for age but don’t let that fool you, I think it is more because they are plain in condition as they have enough frame and therefore the capacity to catch up and stack the kilos on quickly. I would envisage plenty of compensatory gain, they look to be good inside and “on the do” on the current feed conditions. These are highly suitable to background to heavier weights for entry onto grain in a domestic feedlot or continue onto heavier weights, for all domestic grassfed programs. They will also suit a restocker looking to increase future breeder numbers. Heifers are also EU ACCREDITED plus TEYS and OAKEY PASTURE CERTIFIED. Backgrounders note, the vendor is confident these have had no exposure to bulls since weaning back in April.
