Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Heifers are reasonably fast in most areas of the yards. They are easily spooked and tend to trot around in the bigger yards when you get into their flight zone. They need to be blocked up through gateways. Nothing thought to be aggressive in the bigger yards though. They did react negatively when they were in close quarters in the race and crush and exited the crush quickly. Contractors did say they are good to handle in the paddock on horses with dogs. Best handled by experienced stock people.

Assessor Comments
Here are some good quality heifers with most that have only just been taken off their mothers although they look to have been self-weaned for many months. They show good weight for age and will suit to take through to domestic feedlot entry weights or retain as future breeders. They exhibit plenty of femininity and softness and shape. There were 22 heifers added into the initial lot that could be slightly older and were exposed to bulls so have been pregnancy tested non-detectable albeit they were exposed to the bulls right up until assessment. The other 57 were also exposed as followers on the cows so no guarantees can be issued as to their real pregnancy status. There are two videos attached to show the 57 and the 22 that were assessed separately and mixed after they were all assessed. Note the steer portion is also available in the sale and can be used to fill up decks if required. Due to the fact these are staying in the yards until delivery a negative weight gain has been applied.
