This line of calves are generally quite easy to handle. They will find the gate opening or exit & move through briskly but they are easy to stop mid movement if a gate needs to be shut due to a full pen etc.
They enter & file through a race easily. Through the box they are generally quiet however if crushed, a small percentage become stiry which for the breed is not unusual.
In the paddock, their temperament is very good. They mill around a vehicle if present & are mustered with ease.

Presented for sale is a mixed sex line of 84 traded backgrounding type cattle.
Consisting of 18 steers & 66 heifers, this line was individually weighed between 146kg to a top of 316kg full weight. Of the 84, there were a total of 6 below 200kg full weight, at assessment.
The line has been made up of calves purchased out of Nthn NSW & Sthn QLD.
For the last 6 weeks, these cattle have been on agistment at Naracoorte, due to the ongoing wet winter conditions on the vendors home property.
In that time they have really cleaned up, freshened & started to benefit from the bulk of green feed that has been available to them. They present in very healthy, strong store condition and are on the do.
As a group they have a good medium frame score, are relatively even in breed type & condition & handle very well through the yards, race & crush. They are typical of a Northern breed & know where the escape routes are in the yards, but are by no means hard or dangerous to handle. In the paddock, they are nice and calm and have been easy to rotate between paddocks.
We don't give a guarantee on pregnancy status & as stated, stags have been present in the main mob but have been drafted out.
These cattle are a viable option to the purchaser happy for a longer term trade & I'm confident that they will continue to gain weight as the feed gets harder and the sun starts to shine.
They aren't front paddock cattle, but to make a dollar, they don't all have to be!
