Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These weaners have only been weaned for the past few weeks and are still fairly flighty. There are ring leaders that tend to move rapidly in the bigger yards and they need to be steadied down through a gateway, not unusual. Nothing in the mob that could be considered aggressive. Would encourage buyers to allow heifers sufficient time to settle down on arrival prior to being shown the 'bush gate'. Would benefit from further weaning protocols and maybe tailed out.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, 2-decks of Consuelo EU ACCREDITED and PCAS ELIGIBLE Santa backgrounder heifers that have developed a great reputation. Have been offered on A+ for the past 10 years and always seem to attract plenty of repeat buyers who have commented on the great performance these heifers deliver them. They have presented mostly in mainly fresh condition and look to be doing very well on the good quality feed in front of them. For young heifers they show good growth and fleshing. Most demonstrate plenty of weight for age, breed character with depth of barrel, bone and length and should develop into an article like their slightly older sisters also in this sale. They are genetically very sound cattle and would be ideal to put away with a view to getting access to a winter oats crop and take out to heavier weights for entry into a domestic feedlot or retain for future breeding purposes. Clean country buyers note they are offered GUARANTEED CLEAR of the dip.

Vendor Comments
A run of 211 and delivery will be a ‘run of the gate’ into a 3 deck and a 2 deck lot with emphasis placed on an even spread. The first two paddocks at branding were accidently age branded No4's when they should have been stamped with a No5.
