Temperament not assessed in Paddock
Overall, the steers handled well. A small number of steers were unsettled while in the crush and race; however, they settled promptly once returned to the mob, which is typical of freshly weaned cattle. It is expected that once the cattle are fully yard-weaned on delivery, they will be very good to handle. The vendor places a strong emphasis on temperament when selecting bulls and classing females.

Assessor Comments
Quality line of spring-drop, vendor-bred Black Baldy steers. These very well-bred steers are out of medium to large framed Dunoon-blood cows and are sired by quality Dunoon bulls.
These steers represent the top end of the vendor’s steer drop.
At just 5–6 months of age, they are showing excellent growth and weight for age and would suit any backgrounding or finishing program. Steers were yard-weaned at assessment, have received all standard health treatments, and are ready to steam ahead.
These steers are normally retained for the Tumut Store sale in April but are being offered early due to the season. Previous buyers have been very happy with the performance of Camelot steers, making this a reliable and proven line.
