Assessor Comments
A fair through to mostly good and very good quality line of vendor bred NSM heifers. These heifers were yard weaned in several mobs from April to May and since then have been grazing good quality oats. They are all sired by Hazeldean Angus bulls with the full sire list provided. 91 of the 99 heifers present as Angus x Angus with eight heifers showing some other cross - from several Ang/Shorthorn and Ang/Hfd cows in the mob. There is also some influence from a couple of Senegus (Senepol/Angus) bulls used over a decade ago which is still expressing itself in some of the cows. One heifer noted with a moderate blue eye spot in one eye (see picture) while another three head had a mild blue eye spot in one eye. These heifers are grain, antibiotic and HGP free and would suit taking forward into high quality grass or grain finishing programs. Alternatively the top 40% would suit to take and join as very good quality future breeders.
