Assessor Comments
A good to very good quality line of vendor bred Angus yearling steers. They were mostly large framed (66%) with the balance medium framed. Since weaning they have been fed in yards on bunks for a short period before going onto a good quality oats crop. They remain on the last of the oats crop with access to a well grassed paddock. They have had access to grain mixes post weaning. Please note one steer with slight blue eye in one eye and one steer with active pink eye that was treated at assessment with Orbenin. Five steers with small number of warts on face and neck and one steer with moderate warts on neck (see photo). These steers suit to either take directly onto feed or to background to the heavy end of export feeder weights. They have a tight live weight range and will move ahead quickly on good feed. These cattle are located 5km south of Moonie only 500 metres off the highway and are very accessible for any trucks moving north and south.
