Assessor Comments
These ewes show great weight for age and are showing great length, depth and are also very plain. These ewes have built a bit of a reputation on the back of the first cross ewes that the Eckert’s breed and sell at Naracoorte every November, being sold in the first 2 or 3 pens every year. These ewes are normally chased for the same production, but would also suit both self replacement or xb lambs. These ewes come from a flock with a 19mic average, and a great emphasis has been placed on wool quality. Sires used in both a natural and AI program have been purchased of late from Gunallo Merino & Wallaloo Park Studs. These ewes are not long off shears and are definitely going forward and will grow into large framed matrons. Quality bred future breeders that will most probably be retained in future years.
