Ext. Breed
Gullendah Dohnes have been trialed for the past 6 years and have stood up very well in the feet and the wool quality and micron has remained very similar to the merino's. The F1's have proven to have a better and quicker growing carcase.

590 Dohne x Merino ewe lambs split into 2 lines of 295. 31.6kg average full. These are the seconds. Late Jun / July drop, OJD vaccinated and treated with Venus for fly protection on the 21/12. They are all grained trained and are being fed 3 times a week with chickpea/lentil mix. The wool presents very similar to a straight merino. They were crutched on the 15/12. The lambs have not been mulesed. They are out of medium frame Merino ewes and sired by Gullendah Dohne rams which are selected on Wool Quality, positive fat and growth. Some lambs look to have rubbing on theirs sides I think its walking through the long grass as we could not find any signs of lice in any lambs and the farm hasn't had lice for the past 5 years. They looked pretty fresh up til Xmas but the week of hot weather has dried them out quickly. In the past they have gone to the Riverina and got to 50kg by mid winter.
