Pre weaning the lambs had been fed barley on the ewes for a week.
Assessor Comments
A good quality run of Composite and Dorset x Composite sucker lambs. The lambs are approx 75% wethers, with the top of the ewe portion being retained. Vendor bred lambs, sired by a Coota Kelso Composite rams, from a Primeline maternal ewe base. The lambs have been imprinted with grain whilst on the ewe, and are now being trail fed 300g every second day of barley. The lambs show quality genetics, are in fresh forward condition, have been properly weaned and handled daily in the paddock since weaning. A sample group of the lambs have been weighed at weaned and assessment, they have gained 330g/day during that time. They are the right article to go forward with.
