Assessor Comments
Buyers, the complete drop of wether lambs from a 70 year Egelabra flock. This client has never wavered from their pursuit of excellence over the many decades of highs and lows in the wool industry. They still select high quality top grade rams and have their maiden ewes classed annually. These wether lambs are still only very young and the majority of them have grown out very well and this is highlighted in their weights. They offer restockers the opportunity to continue on with them as woolgrowers producing high quality heavy cutting fleeces for many years. There is also plenty of time left for a backgrounder to shear, grow out further, then fatten for the lamb trade next year. The vendor preference is for the entire drop to be sold hence no tail has been removed which would amount to about 5-6% (see video). The lighter lambs are probably only younger but don’t really look to have had any major health setbacks. Buyers should be aware they will need to send 7 decks at delivery.
