Mixed age Merino ewes depastured with Border Leicester rams presenting in strong store to forward fresh/fat condition. (4) early chance get lambs at foot given in. 4% cut or scaly ears, 3% longer toes due to soft black soil.
This group of ewes weaned 81% of lambs last year and were fed whole cotton seed in the latter part of the winter /autumn before early summer storms producing green feed and a very sound joining window. The rams were observed working consistanly well in the joining window then appeared to isolate themselves in the paddock after 10 or so weeks - segregating themselves for the latter part.
