Assessor Comments
Presenting another draft of the Strudwick 1st cross ewe lambs. This is the third lot of the tops of 1100 being offered. Being bred out of large framed Multi Purpose Merino ewes these ewes show great length and should grow into heavy matrons. We drafted this lot as 50.5kg and over. Taking the bottom end of the mob off has made them very even. The sample mouthed were mostly 2 teeth. (Sept/Oct 2021). I noticed only four ewes that had small horns. Several ewes had black marks on ears, common of the cross and not considered detrimental to classification. One ewe has a black patch on the back of her neck (see pics) and one over her eye. These ewes are a credit to the vendors. Unfortunately the extremely wet season has hampered weight gain as they are normally 65kg plus at this stage (as were their older sisters) but there is still plenty of frame to work with. Opportunity to put a nice line of ewes together, vendor bred and NSM. Note: Vendor has 3 other similar lots this sale
