Assessor Comments
Due to a change in operation, CV Yencken of Mansfield are opting to offload their Poll Merino portion of their current flock. These ewes were purchased as NSM females and joined to White Suffolk Rams at 2%, unfortunately a number of combinations have resulted in a poor lambing/marking % with only an 80% LAF ratio. All lambs have been marked and vaccinated. I believe there is a fantastic opportunity to purchase these young outfits and make them into something special given the right conditions, unfortunately the climate they are currently in does not permit a Poll Merino to successfully flourish. There is a significant upside with the LAF being close to a weanable weight/age and can be grown out for a domestic or export market. Please note there are a number of Ewes with elongated toes due to the significantly wet conditions we have experienced and you can refer to attached photos for reference.
