Assessor Comments
On offer is a small line of Merino ewes, 2.5 years old (May 2021 drop). These young ewes come from a well known flock based on Darriwell blood for the past 38 years and classed annually by Russell Jones. They are good framed, heavy cutting sheep with an adult flock average of 20.5 micron, and only rams are introduced to the property. The Gowing's flock has had much success in flock ewe competitions over many years including the Ted Little Memorial Trundle Merino Ewe
competition. These young ewes have all lambed this year. They are a good opportunity to purchase a small number of young ewes which are shorn and should jump ahead to join later in the spring. Vendor also has a line of 119 ewe lambs & hoggets on offer in this sale and these ewes would be ideal to add to those for extra numbers. Noted 3 ewes with scur/light horn.
