Comment on Fat Score 1 Sheep
The percentage of 1 score sheep in consignment are strong and healthy. A portion of this draft have recently had lambs weaned off them which has likely contributed to some of their light condition. They are fit and healthy and will have no issue travelling distance.

Sterling Pastoral have used Cashmore Oaklea maternal genetics for previous 5 years with focus on WEC, moderate adult weight, high growth & fertility. Ewes acquired ex Old Murroa & Goodwood Pastoral are Cashmore base, with some Mount Ronan blood.

Assessor Comments
Offering a draft of young composite ewes, being principally Cashmore Oaklea blood with some Mount Ronan genetics featured. These ewes have been either bred on the property or acquired from well known Western District operations (Old Murroa & Goodwood) and are bred for productivity with fertility a selection criteria in all flocks. Presenting in store to forward condition, and generally a moderate frame, they did have a short opportunity to the ram (in March) and are surplus to requirements with some having reared a lamb, some scanning empty or scanning in lamb & not rearing a lamb. Ewes are up date with vaccinations (inc Campyvax) and have had a summer drench. Circumstances out of vendor's control has meant that there is a need to sell down breeding stock that would otherwise have been retained. It presents a good opportunity to acquire a draft of young composite ewes, bred for fertility & moderate frame to join this coming season.
