Assessor Comments
Scanned in lamb first cross ewes. These ewes are scanned at 150% to the Folleys Poll Dorset rams (Junee). They were joined from the 10/10-21/11 for a March April lambing. Large framed ewes in ideal lambing condition with ample time to get them home and settled in before they lamb. There is an even split of 2016/2017 drop ewes and the majority would be fit to go around again. A sample of the black tag ewes were mouthed (refer photos) to find nothing broken and some spreading. An opportunity to take advantage of excess feed and have suckers heavy for the winter markets.

Further Information: These ewes have not been foot bathed in the last 12 months. 1 head at assessment had scald in a front foot and was removed from the mob (nothing worse than scald and not detrimental).
Feet were inspected at assessment. Inspected 3 head (2%)
Comments: Only one noted with scald and she was removed. Given the conditions due to the amount of rainfall, dampness under foot and the fact clover is still present in their diet scald is possible. Feet appear to be holding up very well - typical of xbs.
