Part of the rebuilding of the Somerset Merino flock these ewes have been bred from very good quality Western NSW bred sheep - plain body & open face, Riverina and other leading ASBV genetics. This group of ewes have reared lambs each other season at Somerset. Somerset heavily invests in fleece micron testing, fleece weighing and fleece value to accelerate production and flock performance whilst combining breeding capacity, fertility and lambing %. The vendor bred sheep carry a green RFID tag and the purchased sheep a white RFID tag for management. 1 ewe in the sample assessed with a dry cheesy gland nudule on her muzzle.
