Assessor Comments
A smart line of young Mt Ascot blood Merino Ewes with Dorper crossbred lambs at foot for buyers competition. Ewes were purchased from Barcaldine region earlier in the year from a heavily classed flock and have grown out well, doing a good job on the lambs with conditions drying off coming into summer. 230 Ewes x 219 Lambs, with dry ewes looking like they are in lamb. Of Ewes assessed there were 9 considered to be dry. Rams were put in March this year and were taken out the day of assessment. Lambs were marked 2 weeks ago, with 5in1 used, and range from 1-2 weeks to 10-12 weeks old. Ewes present with approx 1.5 inch skin, with sound bright wool. Ewes cut approx 5kg of wool at 9 months growth.
