A nice line of 512 Ewe lambs, rising 1 year old. To be sold as 2 runs of 255 out the gate.
Ewe lambs have been managed with low inputs in order to put selection pressure on low input/high output animals. Ewes have been raised with very little chemical input, zero fly preventative chemical has been used in order to ensure natural fly resistant and worm resistant ewes. Sired by Modern Border Leicester rams, focused on carrying the balance of growth, muscle, fat and carcass shape.
Border Leicester sires are from New Armatree and Inverbrackie studs. Rams are selected for high early growth yet moderate adult weight, high fertility & positive carcass traits. Phenotypically rams are selected for deep and broad bodies with good capacity.
Sire team ASBV's average of in top 5% of the breed for weaning rate, 6% for PEMD, 10% for fat and BLX and top 25% for PWT.
Merino dams are classed to the Border Leicester on wool type, and come from a flock achieving 130% weaning rates consistently.
