352 GQ Vendor Bred Mixed Sex “Terrick & Gowan Blood” Merino Sheep. There are 210 Ewes & 142 Wethers that are in forward store to prime condition with 60 - 70mm of Wool. Ideal Sheep to shear & freshen up for the Mutton trade or join the Ewes to a Ram of your choice & retain the Wethers for Woolcutters. The Abbotsford Weaners are classed every year by Peter Clark. Approx 29% Ewes & 29% Wethers from this 2023 Drop were classed out & are now for sale. The Wether portion weighed 49 - 73 kg to av 59.1 kg (31 head weighed). The Ewe portion weighed 44 - 72 kg to av 54.8 kg (39 head weighed). They were all weighed after 20 hours off feed & 16 hours off water. Ewes were crutched in February & Wethers were crutched in late April. There was 1 Wether noticed with an undershot jaw & 2 Wethers with scaly ears. These Sheep will fit onto 4 decks comfortably @ 88 per deck. Abbotsford has Prickly Acacia, however it is not in seed at present & sheep are being held in clean holding paddock until delivery.
