Assessor Comments
The O’Brien Family present a complete dispersal of their 2024 drop Station Mated First Cross ewe hoggets, offering buyers a quality line of well bred future breeders. These ewes are by Jarradale Border Leicester rams out of Niela blood Merino ewes, combining strong maternal traits with hybrid vigour. The bottom 10% has been removed to ensure an even, consistent line throughout. The hoggets have been station mated to Pinewalla Poll Dorset rams, introduced on 14/02/2026 and remaining in until delivery, presenting an opportunity to secure joined females. Of the total, 125 head were purchased as ewe lambs to build numbers and are mulesed, with the balance unmulesed. At assessment, the mob averaged 55.2kg, an ideal joining weight, indicating they are well grown and set for productive breeding. A genuine, well managed line suited to producers seeking fertile ewes with immediate return potential.
