Medium to larger frame store to forward store condition NSM ewes that are suitable to join and breed on. The ewes mouth very well and are good long body sheep that have frame to fatten into heavy weight ewe mutton when finsihed. Lambs recently weaned at shearing & it is expected they will leap ahead on good quality feed given the opportunity. Loongana have been breeding large frame Dohne dual purpose sheep since 2004 selecting Gullendah bloodlines with high fertility, heavy carcass traits and good wool growing capabilities. The Loongana sheep are protected behind a wild dog exclusion fence and have been lice free since. 2% have light scaly ears, 1% one or both ears missing & 2% carry long toes typical of sheep on soft black soil country. 74% are Gullendah Dohne bldlines , 14% "Kaloola" bred Merino / Dohne cross & 12% "Windalle" Sth Aust large frame Merino ewes, Overall a very even mob of ewes ideal to rejoin and benefit from their frame & compensatory weight gain on good quality feed.
