Assessor Comments
Predominantly 2019 drop one mark merino ewes SIL to White Suffolk sires for a May/June lambing. These ewes were purchased ex the breeder - England family Shepherds Hill, Lucindale SA. They are solid medium framed as their weight and lighter fat condition suggest. Averaging 52kg with room to top up. They are plain bodied with high fertility and will produce a quality xb sucker. They were joined for a tight 36 day period from 16/12/22-20/01/22 and have been SIL with 30% carrying multiples. White Suffolk sires are all within the top 20% for Terminal Carcase Production (TCP) with a birthweight suitable for merinos. From their November shearing they cut stylish 18 micron wool with minimal water damage and the fleece line achieved 1310 cents greasy ($42/hd from 8 months growth as well as rearing a lamb). Young ewes in the prime of their life shorn, drenched and vaccinated ready to put out to lamb down.
