A very good quality, smaller line of SIL FX Border Leicester ewes, 4.5 years, mulesed, August shorn, scanned 146% in lamb to GILMORE Poll Dorset rams.These one-mark ewes were bred at Mendooran, out of large framed Merino ewes & sired by BINDAREE Border Leicester rams. Ewes were purchased locally as NSM 3.5 year olds, when a neighbour sold his property & have succesfully raised 140% top quality 2nd cross Poll Dorset suckers, which were weaned at assessment (see last photo, for reference to quality). This mob presents as an even line of true to type, stylish ewes, which have been very productive, & maintain very fresh, blocky mouths, which would see them raise another two drops of lambs. Ewes are mostly in prime condition, & are generally quite good in the udders, with only a handful starting to get a little out of shape, as consistent with their age. Heavy, big ewes which are set to produce a good percentage of top quality 2nd cross Poll Dorset lambs.
