Assessor Comments
A very well presented line of predominantly 1st cross ewe lambs (approx 6% just breaking teeth) which are scanned in lamb to good quality Poll Dorset rams. All ewes are in lamb with 59 head showing as multiples. They present in forward store condition, well grown for age and have been crutched. The sample weighed averaged 54.1 at assessment (overnight lock up) and the sheep are on very good winter feed. They were recently drenched and a worm count done which showed nil worms. This is the annual turnoff of the lead of the Barrett 1st cross ewes. In my opinion they have the breeding and potential to grow into large framed ewes. They are out of large framed Merino ewes purchased ex Riverina off "Steam Plains". They had a set joining and should be due to start lambing early September. Wet weather access is limited to the Karanne yards so purchasers may need to be flexible if rain developes.

Vendor Comments
Had a tough start to life in '23 but early '24 rains have let them catch up. Fairly pleased with their presentation given the very wet autumn and winter being experienced. Have drenched more than usual to keep them healthy.
