Mouthed 26 head, with only two head missing wing teeth. Most ewes show varying signs of wear (refer photos), but were generally sound and likely to stand another season or two.
Assessor Comments
A very well presented draft of Boonerah blood composite ewes presenting in primarily prime condition. The Glenample flock has consistently acquired the best genetics available over many years with a focus on ewe robustness, leading to excellent lamb surviveability and fertility. This is highlighted by a flock average of 150% lambs marked this year and low ewe mortality in a harsh coastal environment. Ewes are Boonerah blood, 2016 & 2017 drop, are up to date with vaccinations including OJD, 6-in-1 and Campyvax. They are generally moderate statue, deep bodied, heavy boned sheep. These ewes are genuine breeders, having scanned in lamb each year, however due to a period of inclement weather lost lambs this season. Being surplus to requirements, this sale offers an opportunity to purchase ewes with quality genetics, bred to perform, in top condition (NOTE: vendor offers 3 lots/ 4 age groups this sale totaling 311 ewes, (2016, 2017,2018 & 2019 drop)).
