Assessor Comments
Vendor has presented a good line of 433 wool grower Wethers with medium to large frame, in good forward store condition. Wethers are carrying a well nourished, stylish and bright fleece grown from a soft thick skin. At 8 months these produced 78mm in length and 4.5kgs in weight. Currently Wethers are carrying approximately 7 months wool, shorn February 2021. No thick horn noted all appear to have normal Wether horn. At assessment of 92 skins measured (47 had 40mm, 37 had 50mm and 8 had 60mm). Of the 433 in the lot 15 with "Walla" ear tags and 418 with "Malanga" as these sheep were purchased by the vendor in April 2020. At Assessment it was noted that some presented with old spray marker on head, this is from previous drafting. A great opportunity to purchase some well bred woolgrower Wethers. Wethers would also suit a fattener opportunity to grab a woolclip at years end and then take on to heavier mutton weights off herbage or lock up on grain.
