Temperament not assessed in Paddock
These heifers were put through the crush the day prior to assessment to be backlined for pretreatment. They came through again and it did cause some of them to become slightly when being pregnancy tested. They settled pretty quickly once reunited with the main mob, only a few that tend to move fairly quickly which will be evident in the video. Buyer urged to allow heifers on arrival time to settle before showing them the "bush gate". Nothing in the mob considered aggressive.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, an opportunity to purchase some very good quality Droughtmaster heifers that are ideal to replenish a breeder herd for the long term. Rarely do heifers of this quality become available so don't let these pass you by. Heifers presented in very good condition and show plenty of growth, softness and carcass traits with depth of barrel and length of body. All in calf with the vendor anticipating most in calf to the Droughtmaster bull as he was introduced after the Angus bull was removed. Heifers are a picture of health and there was no tick identified at assessment so would expect these to clear on Tuesday 21st but no guarantees can be issued. Buyer asked to await for confirmation of clearance prior to sending the truck. These will suit local buyers where the feed is plentiful and reduced freight costs. It must be noted there are an additional 41 heifers in the sale only 10kms away to make up a light road train. There were 5 heifers removed from this lot to make this a 2-deck load.

Vendor Comments
These heifers are just surplus to further breeding requirements at "Barkala". To the best of my knowledge the Droughtmaster bull went in at the beginning of February and out the beginning of March.
