Assessor Comments
A nice line of 60 well bred true to type PTIC AA heifers that are EU accredited. The majority of the mob range from slightly stirry to stirry, but none showed any signs of aggression, even when under pressure in the crush. Conversely, there were a small number of heifers assessed as quiet. They generally ranged from low fat score 3's to hi 3's, with the odd hi 2 in the mob. The majority of the mob are generally medium frames, tending towards large frame, with the very odd small frame at the bottom end.
These heifers are April/May 2022 drop, and are part of a closed herd. Only bulls have been purchased in over the last 25 years, generally from Hazeldean, with the odd Te Mania here and there. They have been running on two EU properties, being their Lucindale block, and here at Mountadam. The Lucindale mob were transported to Flaxman Valley in November, to be mated up and run as one mob. They were preg-tested in mid March. All the drys were removed from the mob, and put over hooks.
