Assessor Comments
A line of vendor bred EU Accredited yard weaned Poll Hereford steers. They range from 184kg to 357kg at assessment with a lighter end below 180kg drafted out of the line. With a medium to large frame, they are suited to take onto feed for the domestic supermarket trade or carry through to export feeder weights. They are also grass fed market eligible and suit to grass finish for high quality MSA markets. They were assessed as 4% fair, 29% good and mostly (67%) very good quality with the fair quality just lacking a little muscling and frame. These steers have been grazing Buffel pasture with access to oaten hay, and since weaning have also had access to Anipro liquid supplement. No active pink eye was identified at assessment, though there were a handful of moderate and slight blue eyes (7) in addition to one healing PE. Please note, 1 EU domestic weight black baldy steer at the top of the weight range (357 kg) is available post-sale by negotiation. These 6-9 month old steers are showing good weight for age and are primed to move ahead quickly given access to good-quality feed.
