Weaner steers moved fairly quietly through yards provided it was done at a slow pace. Under pressure they behaved like a typical weaners with a tendency to move quickly from a few ring leaders, especially if they became isolated from the main mob. Handled reasonably well through the force and race but some did resent being up close and personal on the scales in the crush. These are expected to settle further whilst being fed in the yards.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, presented is a great opportunity to purchase a light 4 deck line of freshly weaned mainly flatback crossbred steers. Most of the steers appear to be flatback types however there are some steers (maybe 5-10 head) with some Brangus content so consequently a slight crest and longer ear. These steers would be ideal to put onto a fresh paddock or crop with all of their conformation around bone, depth and structure presented. Given the opportunity these animals would grow into the ideal item for entry weight to the feedlot, backgrounder or to carry through to bullocks. As mentioned the steers were recently yard weaned and fed wheaten hay. Vendor also has a run of 134 weaner heifers in the same sale.
