Assessor Comments
A good to mostly very good quality line of Angus weaner steers. The steers are medium to mostly large frame with two smaller frame steers noted. They suit to background to heavy domestic and then onto export feeder weights. They have not had access to grain and are grass market eligible. They were born on property out of Gates Angus (NSW) cows that were purchased as PTIC. They are July - Aug 2025 drop calves that were early weaned in January due to the season. After recent rain they started chasing the short green feed and for the past 8 days they have been confined in the yards and fed good quality oaten hay. This was done to successfully reverse the weight loss and the weaners are now moving ahead nicely. Two steers noted with moderate blue eye spots in one eye - see photos. The Angus x steer had small scurrs and another two steers noted with small amount of white on rear flank underline. They were excellent to handle in and through the yards. Good quality steers that will continue to move ahead on good feed.
