Assessor Comments
A line of vendor bred, mostly good to very good quality EU heifers. Yard weaned in June 2025, moved onto Oats post weaning last winter and have been grazing native pastures up until now. These heifers would normally be taken through and crop or pasture finoshed for the lighhter end of the EU Grasslands slaughter narket and the vendor is only selling due to the season. This is the lighter end of the heifers and had a LWR at assessment was 269kg - 319kg after being in the yards overnight on hay. Please note weight gain, this reflects the fact that the heifers have been chasing the green pick for the last 7 - 10 days. This is anticipated to continue so heifers will be fed cotton seed in the paddock up until delivery. With mostly medium to large frames & 4% small frame they suit to background to heavy domestic feeder weights and then finish for a range of high quality slaughter markets. Alternatively, the top 40% VG quality heifers could suit as future breeders. These composite heifers are from a cow herd made up of Angus, Shorthorn & Santa Composite cows. Sired by Angus, The Grove Shorthorn and Gyranda Santa bulls, selected on carcase attributes & growth EBVs. All heifers were preg tested by a vet at assessment, 62hd NDP. Property is located 12km South of Surat.
