Some of the black baldy heifers in the lot would be a mix of F1's and F2's. The red heifers in the lot are actually out of Hereford cows by the Angus Composite bull. One heifer grey in colouring, must be by a Composite bull.

These have only just been weaned so still reasonably quick in the yards and need to be steadied through gateways and they spook easily as they have had minimal handling. Would imagine by delivery these would have settled down.

Assessor Comments
Buyers, a good quality line of Paspaley Pastoral Company lightweight heifers that have been assessed within 24 hours of being weaned. It is very dry here, so the decision has been made to quit them now as the cows are going away onto agistment out in the west. These are extremely well-bred heifers and would suit a restocker looking to background up to domestic feedlot entry specifications or put to a bull once they mature. They are a mix of Angus Composite and F1 & F2 Angus/Poll Hereford cross types with about 15 in the entire run of 203 by the Angus Composite bull. These show plenty of quality carcass traits with length of body, depth of barrel and softness. A small number of the tail end were removed at assessment and those that made the cut don’t look to have suffered any growth setbacks at any stage. There is photo of a heifer with an old blue eye scar that is a typical example of what is in the line. These will be delivered into two even lots if purchased by multiple buyers.

Bred using KO Angus bulls and Angus Composite bulls (approx. 50% Angus, 35% Black Simmental & 15% Black Gelbvieh) from Bluestone stud at Quirindi.

Running on a very short dry coverage of native pastures whilst still on the cows. They have been supplementary fed with grain in creep feeders since 1st week of February.

Vendor Comments
Only being sold due to the dry season as their mothers are off on agistment. They are normally weaned in May.

Exposed as followers on the cows way back in December so they would have only been 3-5 months and probably too young and too light to cycle.
