Steers were a bit anxious in the crush as they had to have their buttons checked, most coming in and standing on the scales quietly, just getting a bit stirred up when the wand was reached through to read the tag. Once let back out in to the feedlot, they did go for a bit of a trot along the fence line before settling down in a corner, then walking back over to their feeder. Once they’d settled they were quiet to approach on foot for photos/videos.

The Jones family run a local on farm feedlot, backgrounding and grain feeding Angus & Euro x steers for the local market, always delivering high yielding, top class bodies, and almost always making the top quotes. These steers are in their finishing stages on a full grain ration of wheat & barley and could continue on or be ready for the knife at delivery. Quality steers that are covered in meat and will yield like steam.
