The steers were generally very good to handle in the yards, race and crush. Ten steers were mildly agitated when in the crush and either exited quickly or would not fully settle. It is early in the weaning process and that they will have more yard and race handling prior to delivery. They were good to handle in the bigger yard and easy to move around.

Assessor Comments
A line of vendor bred good to very good quality Angus weaner steers. With medium to mostly large frame they suit to background to domestic and then export feeder weights. Most were weaned two days prior to assessment with 24 head weaned the morning of assessment. They will be fed oaten hay and worked through the yards daily up until delivery. The steers were visually drafted as Angus x Angus at assessment to suit most Angus feeder steer programs. Four steers noted with slight greying between back legs and approx 10% of black steers have some slight frizz and curl visible in their coat. No active pink eye was visible at assessment but the yards were dry with dust and they will be rechecked prior to delivery. Three steers noted with slight blue eye spots in one eye. These steers have not had access to grain and would suit to finish on grass accredited programs. A nice line of well weaned steers that will moved ahead nicely on good feed.
